Tristan played his last soccer game tonight. He is actually a very good goal keeper, and he gets very proud when he catches a ball or blocks a ball.
Although his team lost the game with 1:3, no kids seemed to be upset, because every kid got a shiny, golden trophy. Kids are excited and parents are happy, and it’s been fun.
It’s Tristan’s first trophy, so it is very special to him. He thinks he earned it, which is right, for he has been playing very hard. He invited his friend William to watch the last game, unfortunately William couldn’t make it but asked Tristan to show the trophy to him after the game. So we stopped by William’s house on our way home and Tristan proudly showed his shiny trophy to William.
Tristan placed his trophy on his bookshelf and told me that he wants to play T-ball, karate, tennis, and piano, so he can get tons of trophies. I see excitement and confidence in his eyes and I am very thankful that we signed him up for the soccer game. I wish I had such a trophy when I was at Tristan’s age. It’s not about the trophy, but it’s all about accomplishment and confidence.
Now the question is “what is next”? T-ball, karate, or tennis?
